Week 3 Picks: Nothing Special

Okay, I’m gonna be honest, this isn’t a super interesting slate of games. At least not on paper. Let’s check it out:

Matchups To Watch

Bills @ Commanders – Can Washington’s D-line put enough pressure on Josh Allen to force him into making mistakes? Can their offense then capitalize on those mistakes? I think the Commanders are solid, but they’re no Bills. Buffalo takes this one in a close game.

Chargers @ Vikings – Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most difficult choice of this week. You’ve got two teams who love to play in close games and love to lose them. I’d say somebody has to win, but that’s not even true. I would absolutely detest a tie, but that’s actually the only outcome that makes sense.

Eagles @ Buccaneers – Part of me says that the Eagles are far better than the Bucs, but part of me says hold on a minute, this Bucs team is very chippy. I do see Philly coming out on top but expect Tampa to make it a game.

Honorable Mentions

Patriots @ Jets – The Jets haven’t bested the Patriots in years. If they manage to break the streak, it’ll be on the back of the defense.

Falcons @ Lions – I like this one for its shootout potential. Also, we get to see both of the first round running backs against each other. Bijan Robinson has already looked impressive, but Jahmyr Gibbs has been underutilized this far. Ultimately, I think the Lions are the better team, so I’ll take Detroit.

Rams @ Bengals – A few weeks ago, I would’ve said Bengals by a mile. But, the Rams have impressed and the Bengals have been lackluster. It looks like Joe Burrow might play on Monday, but I don’t think it matters. It’s possible the Bengals get back on track this week, but I don’t think so.

The Other Ones

Giants @ Niners – I mean come on. Niners by a bunch.

Colts @ Ravens – The Ravens have been rollin’, and I don’t see the Colts slowing them down.

Titans @ Browns – This just screams ugly game. I’m expecting little offense gets done through the air as both of these squads would rather run the ball. In the end, I think the Browns defense will manage to carry them to victory here.

Broncos @ Dolphins – Without the added benefit of playing at elevation, I don’t see the Broncos hanging around long in this one. Miami’s defense is somewhat suspect, but even if it’s close late, Russ will find a way to botch the game.

Saints @ Packers – Honestly, this one was a tough call. I’m still not very confident in the Pack, but maybe they’ve learned their lesson about closing out games. We’ll see.

Texans @ Jaguars – Hard to get excited about an AFC South matchup. Hope to see more progression for CJ Stroud and look to see if the Jags can get the offense back on track. I’ll take the Jags.

Panthers @ Seahawks – Not much to say here. Seattle should have no issues putting up big numbers on Carolina.

Cowboys @ Cardinals – Cupcake Cowboys crush Cardinals.

Bears @ Chiefs – If the Chiefs don’t get that offense cooking this week, they never will.

Steelers @ Raiders – If Pittsburgh’s defense does half of what it did to Cleveland, their no-show offense may not matter. Expect this one to be close.

Losing Some Dollars

Just how many bets can I lose? Statistically speaking, I can lose up to an additional 48 bets this season, if you add that to the 5 I’ve already lost, that’d be a whopping 53! Phenomenal! Let’s see just how bad I can do this week:

Money Line: Rams (+120)

Spread: Seahawks -5.5 (-105)

Point Total: Falcons/Lions O46.5 (-105)

That’ll wrap up this Week 3 preview, we’ll see ya next time.
