I’ll be the first to admit that things have really gone downhill since my historic Week 1 performance. Perhaps this is the price of my hubris. I could lie to you, my dear reader, and tell you that I’m feeling confident about Week 4. I could wax poetic about the trials and tribulations endured during the long, tiring season and how it’s important to stay vigilant in the face of darkness. I could belabor up and down your phone screen with false hopes and dreams, soon-to-be-broken promises, and empty guarantees. In the end, I’ll have to ask myself if it was all worth it. But how could I, as a football god fearing man, live with myself if I put you through all that? I won’t do it, I can’t lie. Things may get worse before they get better. Such is life. I almost forgot I was writing about football…
I stand humbly before you, presenting this, the Week 4 slate:

The Matchups That Keep Me Up At Night
Vikings @ Packers – A real lose-lose situation for me. Either I’ve overrated the Vikings or underrated the Pack. I gotta go with the hot hand.
Saints @ Falcons – Divisional matchups are often unpredictable, and this case is no different. The Saints looked flat last week, the Falcons have played better in Weeks 2 and 3…I think Atlanta needs this one a little more right now.
Eagles @ Buccaneers – I went back and forth on this game, but ultimately I had to take the Bucs because there’s no way they go out and perform as awfully as they did last week. Plus, the Eagles are pretty banged up.
Bills @ Ravens – I sort of had to take Buffalo, right? They’ve looked a lot more balanced offensively this year and it seems like the Ravens may have a bit of a closing issue. I’m sure I’ll regret this.
Seahawks @ Lions – Can’t tell you what was going through my mind when I picked Seattle. I don’t hate the pick, I just kinda feel like maybe I should’ve went with the Lions? Beats me.
Other Nightmare Games
All of them. It’s all of them. No one is safe. I’m not safe. You’re not safe. I mean surely the Bengals have to beat the Panthers right? I’m not so sure. The Niners have a way better roster than New England. Or do they? The Chiefs can’t possibly lose to the Chargers, they run the division. Or maybe they don’t? Honestly, I can’t tell up from down or left from right these days.
One thing I do know is that the results will be out on Tuesday. And good or bad, the cycle shall continue. I’ll see ya then.
