I’m not sure why, but the schedule this week feels very busy. Maybe it’s the absence of any byes, maybe it’s the imminent return of several star players, or maybe even the lingering questions about the status of players who got injured last week (looking at you, Jayden Daniels). I found several of these games challenging to pick this week. On one hand, that’s a plus because it means there’s some great matchups. On the other, it usually doesn’t bode well for my record. Oh well:

Top Matchups
Eagles @ Bengals – I love a good interconference matchup. But here’s a quick stat: 2 out of the 4 previous games between these two, the game has ended in a tie. Now, if you know me, you know I hate a tie. It makes the record look ugly, more than anything. But anyway..Philly hasn’t had a win in this series since the turn of the millennia. So I like Cincy.
Bills @ Seahawks – Oh hey, another Interconference game. This totally feels like a game the Bills could lose, but I’m riding with them.
Bears @ Commanders – This game is only here if Jayden Daniels plays, and I’m leaning more towards him not playing than playing. But if he does, what a matchup. I still like the Commies even if Mariota has to start.
You’ll Only Watch This Game Because It’s Your Only Option
Cowboys @ Niners – In years past, this game would’ve been right up there with the other ones…but not today. I went back and forth on this one for a while. Ultimately, I had to go with SF because Dak is awful against them historically, and you’ve still got some dogs on defense for the Niners. I think this game will be ugly, and not at all in a good way.
And that’s Week 8
