Christmas Week Extravaganza

We’ve got it all for you today, folks. One article to rule them all. I’ll still keep all the pieces in sequence so you can imagine that you’re reading each part on separate days of the week. It’s a little gift from me to you. So let’s kick it off with the Week 16 Results:

The Bad

Broncos – Divisional game between two playoff-hopeful teams? Recipe for disaster. Things looked to be going my way early but took a turn for the worst. Thursday games suck.

Eagles – Pretty similar to the above. Of course, it’s hard to anticipate that Jalen Hurts would go down so early in this one. I’m not too torn up about this game.

Jaguars – Picking between these low-tier teams always proves to be a challenge. No comment needed.

Buccaneers – This one is really disappointing. I like the Bucs, they’re a fun team. You can’t lose to the Cowboys, this version in particular. Disheartening stuff.

But, a 12-4 record is pretty good, I’d say. I’d like to quickly shout out myself for calling the Panthers victory, it’s some of my best work this year.

Power Rankings

Unfortunately, we’ve found ourselves with an all too familiar face at the number one spot yet again…

Top 10

  1. Chiefs – After a 5-week hiatus, the Chiefs are back on top of the Power Rankings. With a 14-1 record, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Up next: Christmas Day in Pittsburgh against a Steelers team on a two-game skid.
  2. Bills – The Bills let the Patriots stay a little too close for comfort. Up next: Rodgers is comin’ to town.
  3. Lions – Even with no David Montgomery, the Lions had no issue getting the run game going against the Bears (and the pass game too, sheesh). Up next: Monday night football against the ghost of 49ers present.
  4. Eagles – Tough divisional loss to the Commies. Not to mention Jalen Hurts going out with a concussion. Not sure if he’ll clear protocol this week or not. Up next: Here comes Cooper Rush.
  5. Packers – Congrats to the Pack on pitching the first shutout of the season. Up next: Over the river and through the woods to Darnold’s house we go.
  6. Ravens – Baltimore is coming off a game against division foe, Pittsburgh, in which they were able to exercise some demons from the past few years. Up next: The Ravens say “Feliz Navidad” as they head down to Houston to take on the Texans on Christmas.
  7. Vikings – Nice quality win over Seattle last week. Up next: The Packers are visiting for the holidays. And how nice, they brought a cheese platter.
  8. Chargers – Huge win on Thursday against Denver as the battle for AFC seeding continues. Up next: a road trip to New England that’ll surely have LA thinking “baby, it’s cold outside.”
  9. Commanders – A huge win for the Commanders relieves a little pressure for their playoff dreams. They’ll need to hope that Atlanta has a silent night against them on SNF.
  10. Steelers – This team appears to have regressed over the past couple weeks, but will get some help in the return of George Pickens and some key defensive pieces this week. Up next: Pittsburgh tries to steal Christmas from the Chiefs at Acrisure.

Week 17 Picks

I was gonna do a write up on a few of these games but it looks like I’m out of time…oh well
